Sound Player — Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Sound Player is built to respect your privacy. The app plays audio files stored on your device and never uploads them anywhere. This page explains what little data the app touches and why.
Information we use
- Music metadata read from your device (titles, durations, file paths) — used only inside the app to display your library.
- Your favorites and playlists — stored locally on your device only.
- Anonymous diagnostic data (crashes and basic usage events) sent to Google Firebase to help us fix bugs.
Permissions we request
- Read audio files — to scan and play music from your device.
- Notifications — to show playback controls in the notification shade.
- Foreground service — to keep playback running while the app is in the background.
Third-party services
We use
Google Firebase Analytics and
Firebase Crashlytics for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports.
See Google's privacy policy at
policies.google.com/privacy.
Data sharing & selling
We do not sell, rent, or share any personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. The app contains no ads.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Your choices
You can revoke any granted permission at any time from the Android system settings. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (favorites, playlists, recently played).
